The social sector, and in particular the mental health of employees, is very important to us in the context of the sustainability-related initiatives we are trying to put into place at BBDouro Group.
We’re aware that the workplace is often the most structured and controlled context in people’s lives, and one of their main means of social and emotional support, and certain that the well-being of employees has a positive impact on the entire Organization, we have been implementing specific mental health promotion measures since 2022, with the CAÇAR program (Mental Health Development and Promotion Workshop), which provided individual sessions with a specialist psychologist, in which employees, in total confidentiality, could access mental health screenings, work on self-regulation strategies or develop skills to leverage performance.
At the time, we were only BBDouro Nautical Experiences. We’ve grown. The acquisitions we made in the past two years resulted in an expansion in our workforce. Since we are now BBDouro Group, we inevitably face additional difficulties.
We looked for fresh solutions as we recognised new, distinct needs related to the unique characteristics of an ever-growing, diverse staff. We felt that a solution that integrated different areas of expertise could more effectively address the concerns of more employees and so, in partnership with Pulso Europe Portugal, this year we implemented WeCare, accessible to all Group employees, a programme that offers free, confidential support and counselling to employees and their families in the personal/psychological, legal, fiscal/financial, and social domains.
