SOLIDARY SAILING
A BBDouro ForALL project
Vela Solidária is a BBDouro ForALL social project dedicated to children and young people living in institutions or integrated into social integration projects. Using sailing as a facilitating tool, the project aims to elevate levels of socialization, tolerance, self-esteem, and communication, contributing to the development of more realistic and concrete life goals for all participants.
Join us and be part of this charitable journey, where sailing is a driving force to transform lives! We are constantly seeking new partners to support new and existing institutions in this activity.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
PILLARS
The fundamental pillars of Solidary Sailing are to strengthen individual skills in areas such as interpersonal relationships, social integration, conflict management, overcoming challenges, communication, and cognitive and motor stimulation.
GOALS
Our goal is to offer regular and ongoing activities throughout the year, tailored to the needs of the participants. For these activities, we use not only our fleet of Beneteau First and Platu boats, but also our INCA Disabled Sailing boat Lusíadas ForALL.
ASSOCIATIONS THAT HAVE SET SAIL WITH US
APEE - AUTISMO
An association created with the aim of bringing together and representing Parents and Legal Guardians of students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) attending public or private education.
ANAP
It takes on the mission of fighting against social inequalities, supporting the satisfaction of basic needs, with a focus on addressing food shortages.
API
Its goal is to welcome children and youth from disadvantaged families in the city of Porto.
CAOVIDA
Its mission is to improve the quality of life of the population through physical exercise assisted by dogs, our co-therapists.
CENTRO JUVENIL DE CAMPANHÃ
Its mission is to promote the well-being and quality of life of individuals, families, and the community, especially in the field of support for children and youth, including those in danger, covering the entire national territory.
PROJETO ESCOLHE VILAR
As part of the Escolhas 5G Program, we participate in activities related to school inclusion and non-formal education, vocational training and employability, community dynamism and citizenship, digital inclusion, entrepreneurship, and empowerment.
LAR MARISTA
To welcome children and youth with disabilities and/or chronic illnesses, providing them with comprehensive development, in close collaboration with the family, inspired by the educational values of Marcelino Champagnat.
PROJETO ASAS
The ASAS Project – Sustainable and Active Villages aims to create a Minimum Village Revitalization Program. It is developed through a partnership formed by Animar, ADC Moura, and ICE.
MOVIMENTO TRANSFORMERS
Its mission is to increase people’s engagement in their communities through what they love to do. To make this a reality, they have created a learning cycle on civic and social participation from 0 to 120 years old.

SEABIN
The Seabin Project is a global initiative aimed at cleaning up our oceans by installing cleaning devices in marinas.
BEACH CLEAN-UP
The monthly Beach Clean-Up is a BBDouro project that aims to clean the beach at the Douro Estuary Nature Reserve.
ECOWORKS
We made the decision to stop using non-sustainable detergents in 2020 and search for non-polluting, biodegradable alternatives.
SAILING WITHOUT BARRIERS
The “Sailing Without Barriers” project aims to provide access to sailing for all people with motor and/or cognitive disabilities, as well as their caregivers or family members.
MOVEMBER
Since 2013, BBDouro has joined this cause and has not only grown a moustache, but has also donated around 1300 dollars to the Movember Foundation to fight the diseases that affect thousands of men every year.
EARTH WATER
A brand of water packaged in Tetra Pak carton that supports the United Nations World Food Program.
