A challenging morning
We've prepared a course with various nautical challenges that will take the little sailors on a trip around the Douro Marina to learn the basics of sailing in a fun way.
Sailing Trial
Are we going to get our feet wet and sail a sailboat for the first time? All participants will have the opportunity to take part in a sailing baptism on boats specially designed for teaching sailing to young people.

Collect all the stamps for each challenge to be in with a chance of winning free tuition at the BBDouro Nautical Experiences Junior Sailing Academy.
June 6th
- The Junior Academy Open Day is aimed at children aged 5 to 15.
- Registration is free.
- You can register at one of the various times available: 10h00, 10h20, 10h40, 11h00, 11h20, 11h40, 12h00, 12h20.
- Each time slot has capacity for eight children.
- The activity lasts about an hour.
- You must register each child individually by 18:00 on May 30, 2025.
- Each group of children will be accompanied by a Junior Academy monitor throughout the challenges.
- Parents will be able to accompany the children throughout the activities and witness the sailing baptism on the Douro Marina beach.
The Junior Sailing Academy
The Junior Sailing Academy and the BBDouro Nautical Experiences Sailing Camps are projects that we have been developing since the first day of our history. They started from Diogo Barros’ (CEO) conviction that it was necessary to change the way sailing was introduced to children in Portugal.
This is how a program was born, aimed at children and young people, which promotes learning to sail boats in a healthy and comfortable environment. The main goal is to instill a love for sailing and the sea and to let each one experience it in their own way, whether for leisure, competition or as a possible profession.
A vision that has come to fruition since 2012 with the help of instructors who have passed on, and continue to pass on, a love and passion for this sport of ours to the hundreds of students we have received.
