We believe that our work at BBDouro can benefit both our ecosystem and our community. Our efforts are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, in particular SDGs 11, 12, 13, 14 and 17.
Our everyday actions are fundamentally anchored in our dedication to sustainability. As GRACE members since 2018, our goal is to develop an ethical and sustainable business strategy that can lead by example.

SDG 11 - Sustainable Cities and Communities
Being a business that operates in Vila Nova de Gaia and has a significant influence on Porto, we feel that we owe it to the local communities to contribute in a sustainable way. Through sailing, we encourage a sustainable way of living, and we organize a number of annual events, including the Open Day and the Vela Solidária and Vela Sem Barreiras projects.
SDG 12 - Sustainable Consumption and Production
Our eco-friendly activities are a reflection of our commitment to responsible consumption and production. We drink and sell Earth Water, which is the first Portuguese brand to sell water in Tetra Pak cartons and donates to the World Food Program. In addition, we use and promote the Ecoworks brand when cleaning our boats and in our nautical services.
SDG 13 and 14 - Climate Action and Protection of Marine Life
We understand how critical it is to combat climate change and safeguard our rivers, seas, and oceans. To help the preservation of marine life, we have implemented a Seabin in the Douro Marina and beach clean-up at the Douro Estuary Nature Reserve. We are always looking for new and creative ways to reduce our environmental effect and protect the earth for coming generations.

BBDOURO FORALL
BBDouro ForALL is an extension of the BBDouro brand, created in 2014 with the aim of promoting social projects.
BEACH CLEAN-UP
The monthly Beach Clean-Up is a BBDouro project that aims to clean the beach at the Douro Estuary Nature Reserve.
SEABIN
The Seabin Project is a global initiative aimed at cleaning up our oceans by installing cleaning devices in marinas.
MOVEMBER
Since 2013, BBDouro has supported this cause by growing a moustache and donating roughly $1,300 to the Movember Foundation in an effort to combat diseases that yearly impact thousands of men.

A brand of water packaged in Tetra Pak carton that supports the United Nations World Food Program.
ECOWORKS
We made the decision to stop using non-sustainable detergents in 2020 and search for non-polluting, biodegradable alternatives.
