Awareness month for male diseases at BBDouro
Since 2013, BBDouro has joined this cause and has not only grown a moustache, but has also donated around 2200 dollars to the Movember Foundation to fight the diseases that affect thousands of men every year.
With each passing year, more BBDouro employees grow a mustache, becoming part of this global movement. In 2023 we came very close to our goal, having donated 910 dollars between the various initiatives carried out and donations from the WE DO community.
This year, we’ve set our Movember Wave back to zero, but we hope that in September the BBDouro MoBros team and our entire community will raise the tide of donations again so that together we can reach 1000 dollars in donations.

WHAT IS IT?
The Movember Foundation was founded in 2003 and aims to raise awareness and support for men who suffer from diseases unique to men. This project started in Australia, through two friends Travis Garone and Luke Slattery.
WHAT IS THE IMPACT OF THIS ACTION?
This cause has a great visual and social impact due to its now outdated icon – the mustache. Over the years, more and more men and women have been impacted by the moustache, and just two years after Movember was created, almost 8,000 men were already taking part in the movement.
In 2007, the Movember Foundation became a social organization recognized worldwide, having raised nearly 20 million euros to fight diseases that affect a large percentage of men, such as prostate cancer.
Every year, more than half a million people participate in this movement and more than 1,250 projects related to men’s health have already been financed.

Vela Solidária is a BBDouro ForALL social project dedicated to children and young people living in institutions or integrated into social integration projects.
SAILING WITHOUT BARRIERS
The “Sailing Without Barriers” project aims to provide access to sailing for all people with motor and/or cognitive disabilities, as well as their caregivers or family members.
ECOWORKS
We made the decision to stop using non-sustainable detergents in 2020 and search for non-polluting, biodegradable alternatives.
EARTH WATER
A brand of water packaged in Tetra Pak carton that supports the United Nations World Food Program.
