BBDouro’s Foiling Academy offers a fresh perspective on sailing for both young and experienced sailors. Flying on a Wazsp with a highly skilled technical team over the Douro River and the coastal regions of Matosinhos and Vila Nova de Gaia will give you unforgettable experiences.

Designed for people who have never had the thrill of foiling on water and want to make their first touch with a foiling boat.
The trial is held in one of our Waszp boats.

For individuals looking for a distinctive sailing experience aboard a foiling boat, the Foiling Academy provides personalized private instruction, with a maximum capacity of two people.
The lessons consist of both theoretical and practical components with video support for a more detailed debriefing regarding the training session. Depending on the level of knowledge and abilities of the sailors, the lesson is adjusted to meet their specific needs.
Each lesson involves constant communication and interaction between the coach and sailors to enhance their progress through constructive feedback.

At our academy, we carefully structure the journey of our sailors. Our pack of private foiling lessons is designed for sailors seeking a continuous sailing experience in a foiling boat.
With a maximum limit of two people, the lessons consist of both theoretical and practical components with video support for a more detailed debriefing regarding the training session.
Depending on the level of knowledge and abilities of the sailors, the lesson is adjusted to meet their specific needs.
The lessons involve constant communication and interaction between the coach and sailors to enhance their progress through constructive feedback.

For sailors who want to acquire advanced knowledge about foiling, there is no better option than an intensive training camp on a Waszp, accompanied by an experienced coach.
The duration of each camp varies according to the number of days desired by the sailor. The theoretical and practical components throughout the days are planned according to the sailor’s level and objectives.
Sailors receive a briefing and a debriefing each day. The day’s objectives, exercises to be performed, and weather predictions are covered at the briefing. Images that were recorded throughout the training session are evaluated during the debriefing.
The lessons involve constant communication and interaction between the coach and sailors to enhance their progress through constructive feedback.

Foiling Academy Conditions
- The fee includes insurance, support documents, all safety gear (lifejacket and intercom).
- It also includes a support boat to accompany the session with an instructor on board. When renting, only the support boat is included.
- The price shown includes VAT at the legal rate in force.
- The meeting point is at Douro Marina.

FOILING
The WASZP is a foiling boat class, with a robust construction and easy maintenance, with more than 1500 enthusiastic sailors in its swarm.
ONE DESIGN
It provides a perfect platform for male and female sailors to compete on equal terms of conditions and performance.
EPIC SAILING
A spectacular boat for epic sailing sessions. As the boat gains speed, the foil lifts the hull up and out of the water, reducing the boat’s resistance in the water and increasing its speed. This allows the boat to reach speeds more than twice that of the wind speed.

Douro Marina's excellent location offers versatility in terms of the sailors’ nautical knowledge with sessions being held on the river or at sea.

The foiling academy is an exciting project that allows experienced dinghy sailors to experience foiling. The incredible sailing conditions off the coast of Matosinhos and Vila Nova de Gaia enable us to have intense and challenging training sessions, but at the same time, they are incredibly fun for both the sailors and me.

JUNIOR ACADEMY
Welcome to BBDouro’s Junior Academy, where every weekend on the Douro River we teach children aged 5 to 18 how to sail and foster their passion for the sport and the sea.
ADULTS ACADEMY
Welcome to BBDouro’s Adult Academy, where age and lack of time are no longer obstacles keeping any sailor from pursuing their passion for the sea and the sport.
SAILING CAMPS
BBDouro offers the greatest Summer and Easter camps in Vila Nova de Gaia and Porto. Children aged 5 to 15 years old will enjoy fun-filled weeks at sea, with wind, sun, and sailing.
PRIVATE LESSONS
Sailing lessons tailored to each sailor’s schedule and availability, whether they are learning with a friend or on their own.
DISABLED SAILING
Teaching and practicing sailing as no limits at BBDouro. Our disabled sailing program on the INCA Lusíadas ForALL boat is tailored to meet the individual needs and skill levels of each sailor.
SAILING TRIALS
During a two-hour cruise along the Douro River, you will experience the unique sensation of using just the wind to move forward and feel the adrenaline of the boat gliding on the water.
