Anyone with special needs, along with their family members and caregivers, can take a boat ride down the Douro River thanks to our accessible tourist services.
For those who wish to experience the unusual sensation of moving simply with the wind and feel the rush of adrenaline as the boat glides over the water, this is the perfect activity. In this two and a half hour experience, you will feel like a true captain by participating in the maneuvers and steering of a small sailboat while enjoying the magnificent landscapes of the riverbanks of Vila Nova de Gaia and Porto.

Schedule: Every day at 10:30 AM and 02h30 PM
Duration: 2 hours and 30 minutes
Price: €50.00 per person
Maximum Capacity: 8 people (4 conventional wheelchairs or one electric wheelchair)
Conditions:
- The activity is carried out using sailing navigation, except during entry and exit from the marina or due to of lack of wind.
- The fee includes skipper and crew, safety equipment, and participation insurance.
- The use of safety gear is mandatory. They are provided by BBDouro.
- There may be a few (or many) reviving water splashes during this tour.
- There is a ramp for boarding the boat that is usable by both electric and manual wheelchairs.
- All individuals on board must have a valid ticket for the tour.

WHERE WILL YOU SAIL?
Departing from Douro Marina, and depending on the wind, we will take you on a saling trip through the beautiful scenery of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia. Along the way, don't miss some of the most iconic landmarks such as the Arrábida Bridge, the old market (Alfandega), the Porto wine cellars, and the Luiz I Bridge. And don't forget to immerse yourself in the sea breeze as we head towards the mouth of the Douro River, where you can enjoy the view of Foz do Douro and the new cruise terminal. There will be plenty of picturesque spots to capture memories.

The world’s first disabled sailing catamaran developed in Portugal in a partnership between BBDouro and Inclusive Sailing.
The entire vessel has been meticulously designed and is 100% adapted to the needs of this activity, ensuring a safe experience and barrier-free learning for any sailor with special needs.
ACCESSIBILITY
Anyone with special needs can operate the boat, which features systems specifically developed to allow sailors to perform various tasks on board, with or without the help of an instructor.
Its central platform can accommodate up to four conventional wheelchairs or one electric wheelchair.
