The presence of Universidade Católica Portuguesa Porto on the waters of the Douro has become a benchmark in innovation and sustainability. Since 2012, UCP Porto has elevated the way it communicates with the public, being the first brand to embark on a unique journey alongside BBDouro.

Floating Outdoor
For over a decade, UCP Porto has turned our sailboats into true floating billboards, capturing the attention of everyone strolling along the riverside areas of Vila Nova de Gaia and Porto.
Currently, three sailboats adorned with the brand’s colors are part of the BBDouro Nautical Experiences fleet, participating in adult academy lessons, sailing baptisms, team-building activities, and even cruise regattas. This communication approach stands out not only for its originality and impact but also for the experience it offers, transcending traditional advertising.
Sustainability
More than a partnership, our relationship reinforces the commitment to building a better future. We were invited to join INSURE – Innovation in Sustainability and Regeneration Hub, an initiative by Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Porto, in collaboration with Planetiers New Generation, which promotes Knowledge, Innovation, and Sustainable Entrepreneurship.
Our participation in this project strengthens the commitment of both institutions to a more conscious future and is a recognition of BBDouro Nautical Experiences’ continuous efforts towards sustainability. An example of this is our dedication to sustainable business practices and beach cleanup programs in the Douro Estuary Natural Reserve, which have already resulted in the collection of over 120 kg of waste.
When two entities share common goals, everything becomes easier. Together, we sail in true synergy between knowledge and the passion for sailing.
