Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are unable to hold the usual skippers’ meeting at the Sport Club do Porto and Yate Clube do Porto venues.
Consequently, the meeting will take place at the scheduled time – 9:30 PM – at Douro Marina, in a tent next to the Marina building, on the West side.
During this meeting, all necessary information for participating in the regatta will be provided, and any related clarifications will be addressed.
TALK: Are You Up for the Challenge of Being Inclusive and Conscious?
On Saturday from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, Douro Marina will host the talk “Are You Up for the Challenge of Being Inclusive and Conscious?” Brought to you by Lusíadas Saúde. This discussion will feature three very special speakers: Bento Amaral, Jorge Pina, and Mafalda Ribeiro. Each of them has faced significant challenges. You can attend the talk in person at Douro Marina, or you can follow it via the live stream on Lusíadas Facebook page.

SUSTAINABILITY
As part of the organizing body of the Lusíadas Saúde Porto Sailing 2023 event, BBDouro is responsible for raising social awareness about fuel consumption. As such, we show the following hypotheses for the routes during the races:
- Use of Electric Scooters, available at various sharing points in the city of Porto, visible here.
- Rental of Bicycles and/or scooters at Oportomotorent, in Douro Marina.
- Communication among sailors for sharing personal vehicles.
BBDouro will provide all athletes participating in the event with a cloth bag containing:
- Reusable aluminum bottle GRACE
- Earth Water single-use bottles
These bottles are provided by BBDouro, but we recommend that athletes bring their own bottles to reduce unnecessary expenses.
Lunches during the regattas will be provided:
- in eco-friendly packaging formats;
- and with sustainable, sourced locally, and made with fresh ingredients.
All paper supports related to the event will be avoided:
- The use of QR codes will be promoted.
- Prints will be made on Fegol Eco Paper: chlorine-free and acid-free paper with alkaline.

Portugal’s first inclusive regatta
The first inclusive regatta in Portugal brought a fleet of 62 boats between September 18 and 19, 2021, as well as the inauguration of the inclusive boat Lusíadas ForALL, accompanied by a talk with three very special speakers.
2nd Edition of Lusíadas Saúde Porto Sailing
As last year, the Lusíadas Group ensured the safety of all the athletes, guests and event staff by having a medical tent on site.
