AND SO WE CLOSE ANOTHER EDITION!
The Sunset Party by Lusíadas Saúde on Saturday night was a success! Competitors from the Regata do Infante, Women on Water and employees from Lusíadas Saúde and BBDouro Group enjoyed an evening of socializing, music, dancing, food and a giveaway or two.
After a lightning dismantling of the entire festival site and a few hours of sleep, the BBDouro team returned to the office for the last day of the event.
At first glance, the second day of Lusíadas Saúde Porto Sailing seemed to be quieter than the first, but we knew better!
The day was largely dedicated to the girls from Women on Water, but there was a lot of activity on our entire fleet of boats, with several trips for Lusíadas Saúde employees and their families and charity trips for various associations as part of our ForALL program.
We couldn’t have ended this emblematic event in a better way.
WOMEN ON WATER BY HEYDOC DENTAL CLINICS
The second day of Women On Water kicked off with the last races of the qualifying round, which saw Team Fitch go straight through to the finals, We Do Sailing, Velha Infância and Matta u Pinto go straight through to the semi-finals and Desen(consta)das and “Café com leite” being eliminated.
In the play-offs we left behind the Sea Girls, the En(costa)das, the All-stars in and the Camilidades in a series that tested both the CR and the beacon team due to the unstable wind.
The semi-finals pitted We Do Sailing, Velha Infância, Matta u Pinto, Pink and Les Chéries against each other in a close series that was decided in the last race.
The final pitted the four best teams in the championship against each other: Team Fitch, We Do Sailing, Velha Infância and Les Chéries. The unstable wind forced CR to make several changes to the course and move the regatta course away from Douro Marina and towards Foz do Douro.
With the deadline for the last race approaching, it took three races to decide the winners, but in the end it was the team of Olympians Mafalda Pires de Lima and Mariana Lobato who claimed victory in this 5th edition of Women On Water Portugal.
It was a hotly contested final that earned second and third place on the podium for the We Do Sailing and Velha Infância teams respectively.

This edition of Women on Water Portugal 2024, sponsored by HeyDoc, has come to an end. It was an exciting two days of racing, with some of the best female crews in the country and beyond, in an event where 21 races were contested between 12 teams.

ALL ABOARD AND FOR ALL
The Lusíadas Saúde Porto Sailing event once again brought to the shores of Porto and Gaia a glimpse of several boats in constant navigation.
With the aim of promoting social inclusion in all its teams, Lusíadas Saúde promoted sailing baptisms and sailboat trips for employees and their families on the last day of the event. The more adventurous opted for a baptism on our platus, and the more relaxed for a sailing trip on the Remédio Santo, with a total of 174 people on board.
Everyone had the chance to go sailing and get “the bug”. And because Lusíadas Saúde makes sure that no one is left out of these activities, the inclusive boat Lusíadas ForALL (INCA) sailed for the last two days with guests on board from various social associations.
The day didn’t disappoint and all the guests were able to enjoy the sun and warmth with a backdrop of the shores of Porto and Gaia, and with the bonus of the action right next door at the Women on Water regattas.
For us, the balance is extremely positive, and we couldn’t be more grateful for having organized yet another Lusíadas Saúde event, with such a great impact on inclusion and diversity in national sailing. In addition, the Todos a Bordo tours will continue over the next week, marking the end of another edition of this incentive program for Lusíadas employees!

About Lusíadas Saúde Porto Sailing
Lusíadas Saúde Porto Sailing returned to Porto for another unmissable edition! On September 14 and 15, 2024, the waters of the Douro River were the stage for the biggest sailing event in northern Portugal, celebrating the 14th Regata do Infante and another edition of Women On Water Portugal.
This event is not just a competition: it is a gathering of joy and celebration.
For two days, the Douro Marina was the epicentre of several boat trips that closed this year’s edition of the Todos a Bordo program for Lusíadas Saúde employees and marked the 4th edition of another inclusive Lusíadas ForALL action.
We achieved record numbers and we couldn’t be happier with the feeling of having done our duty, but always focused on the future.
