In January, Düsseldorf hosted another edition of one of the world’s most prominent boat shows, boot Düsseldorf. BBDouro Group was present with representatives of the three brands – Alexandre Soares, Diogo Couto, Raúl Barroso and Tiago Morais – and embarked on a mission to explore, learn and improve its presence in the maritime world.
For the BBDouro team, this event was of significant importance, providing a platform to strengthen existing partnerships, establish new contacts and keep up to date with industry trends.
The main focus for the BBDouro Nautical Experiences was market research for Dinghy Sailing boats for the Junior Academy and alternatives to make the adult academy’s fleet of Sail-boats more sustainable (e.g. electric and combustion engines). Diogo immersed himself in the latest innovations, looking for solutions to align the fleet with ecological practices.
For BBDouro Boat Servicesthe visit to boot Düsseldorf is a must on the calendar and a good opportunity to interact with key suppliers, including VETUS, YANMAR, TESSILMARE, TOHATSU, HONDA MARINE and MERCURY. Alexandre returned with a first-hand look at what’s new at Mercury AVATOR, got to know the new 350hp Honda engine and explored Tohatsu’s latest launches, such as the 8hp and 9.9hp electronic injection engines and the new 140hp counter-rotating model.
This visit also provided the opportunity to identify and revive conversations with potential new suppliers of specific parts, materials and tools, from electrical wiring to raw materials for repairs and improvements on board, rigging material and various brands of nautical clothing.
For BBDouro Yachts & Brokerage, the boat show marked a crucial moment to present the new brand to the market. Raúl took the opportunity to establish contacts with brands and representatives in Portugal and solidify partnerships with the brands represented – Invictus Yachts and Capoforte.
The BBDouro team gave a very positive assessment of the four-day boat show, highlighting the latest materials, boats and engines, along with presentations by emerging brands and networking opportunities. Visits to the various boats on display (from RIB to large yachts) also helped to understand the direction that boatbuilding is taking – knowledge that will make all the difference in future refit projects and onboard modifications.
