BBDouro Nautical Experiences, in partnership with the Portuguese Sailing Federation, invites young Portuguese sailors to participate in the 29er Clinics.
These clinics are ideal for those who want to try the 29er, one of the most popular classes in the junior circuit, which gained attention in Portugal with the organization of the 29er Porto World Sailing Championship 2025. While the focus is on providing an experience in the class, BBDouro Nautical Experiences and the Portuguese Sailing Federation want participants to make the most of this opportunity to learn and grow.

Regulations for Admission to the 29er Class Clinics
1. Objective
The 29er class clinics aim to provide a demonstration of the class, allow participants to experience the boat, and develop the athletes’ technical preparation for participation in the 29er World Championship.
2. Admission Criteria
2.1. General Criteria
Athletes who meet the following requirements can apply for the clinics:
Must be of Portuguese nationality or reside in Portugal;
Must be registered with the Portuguese Sailing Federation with a valid sports license for 2025;
Must have prior experience in relevant classes, to be evaluated by the technical team (Optimist, Vaurien, 420, ILCA4, among others).
2.2. Specific Criteria for Each Clinic
1st Clinic
Minimum age: Athletes who turn 15 by the end of 2025 (transitioning from Optimist);
Maximum age: Athletes who do not turn 18 by the end of 2025;
Demonstration of adequate technical skills, to be evaluated by the technical team.
2nd Clinic
Must meet the criteria of the 1st clinic;
Must demonstrate a genuine interest in participating in the 29er Class World Championship;
Commitment to the preparation program defined by the Portuguese Sailing Federation.
3. Selection Process
The application must be submitted by the deadline indicated in each call for applications.
The selection will be made by the technical team of the Portuguese Sailing Federation in collaboration with BBDouro Nautical Experiences.
- Athletes may be subject to a technical evaluation process before the final selection.
