In 2025, at BBDouro Group, we once again demonstrated that sustainability is not just a concept, but a practice built on concrete actions, people involved and real impact. Between the Douro River and the Atlantic, between sailing, inclusion and social awareness, this was a year to remember… and to repeat.
BEACH CLEAN-UPS: SMALL ACTIONS, BIG CHANGES
Our commitment to the planet started with our feet in the sand. Throughout the year, our Junior Academy held monthly beach cleaning sessions, open to the whole community, while our Sailing Camps integrated weekly waste collection actions into their schedule.
– 28 beach clean-ups carried out
– More than 200 kg of waste removed from the banks of the Douro and the Atlantic coast
More than numbers, we’re talking about environmental education, a sense of responsibility and young sailors who learn from an early age that looking after the sea is part of sailing.
SOLIDARITY OPEN DAY: SAILING IS FOR EVERYONE
On May 20, 2025, BBDouro Nautical Experiences organized another edition of the Solidarity Open Day – an event where physical, cognitive or social limitations were left on land and, in the water, there was only room for smiles, sharing and freedom.
With the aim of making sailing accessible to everyone, this special day was supported by STB partners Savills and Católica Porto Business School, who brought 25 participants from institutions and social causes they support. Aboard our INCA, and accompanied by BBDouro team members who volunteered for the occasion, each participant experienced an unforgettable morning or afternoon on the Douro River.
15TH EDITION OF THE REGATA DO INFANTE
Since 2021, the Regata do Infante has been recognized as the first and only fully inclusive regatta in Portugal, allowing disabled sailors to compete side by side with other athletes in adapted boats.
On September 13, the ForALL team was once again on board the INCA Lusíadas ForALL catamaran, completing the second stage of the regatta. More than just a sporting challenge, this initiative promotes equality, combats prejudice and encourages everyone to take part in sailing.

MOVEMBER: MOUSTACHES AND REAL IMPACT
November brought reinforced moustaches and a greater cause. Since 2013, BBDouro Group has been sailing side by side with the Movember movement, promoting men’s health and the importance of prevention and early diagnosis.
In 2025, the goal was clear: to raise 1,000 euros for the Movember Foundation. And because we like challenges – and overcoming them – we ended the month with 1,032 euros in donations, surpassing the target and reinforcing the solidarity spirit of the We Do Sailing community, as well as the certainty that, together, we can make a difference on and off the water.
WE CONTINUE SAILING...
This year, every beach clean-up, every sail hoisted in an inclusive context and every donation raised were gestures that, when added up, created a real impact.
At BBDouro Group, we believe that the sea teaches by example: respect, cooperation and responsibility. It is this philosophy that we take to dry land, involving children, families, partners, employees and the entire We Do Sailing community in a common vision – to care for the planet and the people who sail on it.
For us, sustainability is part of our identity, both on and off the water. And as long as there is wind, people and the will to do better, we will continue to sail in this direction.
