On October 4, BBDouro Nautical Experiences once again opened the doors of its Adult Sailing Academy for the second Open Day of 2025, an event that once again filled the Douro with enthusiasm.
There were 70 participants who accepted the challenge and had the opportunity to try sailing for the first time or experience a new adventure. Spread over three sessions throughout the morning, each had two distinct phases: a theoretical introduction on land, where participants learned the basics of sailing, and a practical lesson on the water, accompanied by experienced instructors.
The first session began with little wind, which brought a calmer pace to the start of the Open Day. Even so, the group didn’t let the lack of intensity of the wind dampen their curiosity and took the opportunity to consolidate the concepts they had learned on land. As the day progressed, the wind increased, making the conditions ideal for the following lessons and providing some very exciting moments on the water.
The BBDouro team ensured that all the participants had a safe experience and got the most out of the activity. Between learning and maneuvers, the atmosphere was one of sharing, and at the end of each session the smiles were evident, with a general feeling of satisfaction at having experienced something different, fun and with a touch of challenge.
