Male health awareness month at BBDouro.
We have been supporting this cause since 2013. Not only do we grow our moustaches, but we also implement various initiatives throughout November to raise donations that enable the Movember Foundation to take action against diseases that affect thousands of men every year.
With each passing year, more BBDouro employees grow a mustache, becoming part of this global movement. In 2023, we created Milhas do Bigode (Moustache Miles), an initiative that joined the already customary BBDouro MoBros moustaches to encourage fundraising within our community.
This year, we have reset our Movember counter to zero, but we hope that during November, the BBDouro MoBros and MoSisters team and our entire community will once again raise the tide of donations so that together we can reach €1,000 in donations.
WHAT IS IT?
The Movember Foundation was born in 2003 and aims to raise awareness and support male people who suffer from diseases exclusive to men.
WHAT IS THE IMPACT?
This cause has a significant visual and social impact due to its icon – the moustache. Over the years, more and more men and women have been influenced by the moustache, and just two years after Movember was created, almost 8,000 men were already participating in the movement.
Currently, more than half a million people participate, raising several million euros and funding more than 1,200 projects related to men’s health.
HOW CAN I HELP?
Grow your moustache and show it to the world! This year, the BBDouro MoBros and MoSisters team aims to raise €1,000 for this cause once again.
You can help us achieve our goal through one of our Movember initiatives or by making a donation of €3 or more directly on our page on the Movember Foundation website.
In November, sailing lessons are worth their weight in gold!
During the month of November, we will convert the miles from the Junior and Adult sailing classes at BBDouro Nautical Experiences (group or private) into donations for the Movember Foundation.
For every sailing lesson, we will donate €0.60 for every mile sailed.
How you can help BBDouro MoBros team?
- If you’re not already a BBDouro sailor, sign up for our beginner, advanced or private lessons and book your lessons for November now!
- If you’re already a student, clear your schedule for the month and make sure that “rain or shine”, you don’t miss your lessons
*BBDouro will assume an average of 10 nautical miles per class, totalling €6.00 in donations for each class held.
