The penultimate day of the 29er Porto 2025 World Championship was once again a surprise, with light wind conditions once again changing the competitive landscape. The slight breeze that was felt throughout the day especially favored the lighter crews, allowing them to climb positions in the overall standings.
Despite the difficulties, the doubles teams that managed to maintain a regular performance remained firmly at the top of the table. Consistency has been a key weapon in this final stretch of the competition, marked by some balance between the world’s best.
The day ended with a new TOP 3 with Norwegians Nicklas Holt / Philip Forslund in the lead, followed by French teams Jocelyn Le Goff / Jules Vidor and Nolann Huet Des Aunay / Titouan Gresset. The women’s category is headed by Poles Antonina Puchowska / Alicja Dampc, and the mixed category by Italians Giulia Bartolozzi / Pietro Rizzi.
From day one, the spectacle on Porto’s coastline has been guaranteed. Each race has provided moments of adrenaline, both for the sailors and for those who watch closely or are present in large numbers on the beaches and pontoons of the Douro Marina. The uncertainty surrounding the possible world champions remains and makes the outcome of this edition even more unpredictable.
A Regatta for the Sea
The 29er Porto World Championship 2025 is another event organized by BBDouro Nautical Experiences under the label Sailors for the Sealabel, reinforcing its commitment to environmental sustainability. Throughout the championship, various initiatives were implemented to reduce the ecological impact of the competition – from waste reduction practices to environmental awareness actions. These measures were monitored and evaluated by the organization throughout the week, and now, with a sense of accomplishment, we await the official announcement of the level of environmental certification achieved, to be announced on the last day of the event.
